Where has the UK been ranked in ‘the most investible countries’ in the world? | #UKmfg Focus
This week Richard is away in France so we’re graced by the presence of Colin Griffiths and Giovanni Albanese who have lots of UK Manufacturing news and current affairs to talk about.
We start with the Aerospace industry and the news that the UK has been ranked the 4th most investible country in the world for the Aerospace industry, despite the uncertainty of Brexit.
Continuing with news from the aerospace sector, the UK has seen a record number of wide-body aircraft being manufactured.
Our last story on Aerospace is that the government has announced a £300m “Future Flight Challenge” to enhance R&D looking for new ways to fly passengers around the world. New technologies such as electric planes and urban flights.
IAC Group have this week announced that they are investing heavily into the UK and opening up a new production plant strategically based near Jaguar Land Rover on the M42 corridor. This follows news that JLR themselves have had the green light for their own global parts distribution centre creating 5,000 jobs.
Another success story is Advanced Plastics based in Hull, who subsequently make parts for Jaguar Land Rover too, have announced expansion plans and the creation fo 50 more jobs.
