MyWorkwear supporting the next generation
2 Minute Read
At MyWorkwear we have been actively involved in supporting UK manufacturing and the next generation of engineers through a number of sponsorships and memberships over the last couple of years. It is an important matter for us, and as we move towards 2020, we’re increasing our involvement.
Being based in Shropshire ourselves, we have chosen to work with The STEM Workshop, to bring the F1 in Schools challenge to schools across Shropshire. The aim is to inspire the next generation. The challenge will hopefully help to raise the profile of engineering in Shropshire, develop student’s engagement and skill set in engineering and develop their employability skills. Our mission is to support the schools and hope to get one of them to the World Finals!
What is Formula 1 in Schools?
Spanning age ranges of 9 to 19, the Formula 1 in Schools main objective is to help change the perceptions of science, technology, engineering and maths by creating a fun and exciting learning environment for young people to develop an informed view about careers in engineering, Formula 1, science, marketing and technology.
F1 in Schools Ltd is a social enterprise working with committed industry partners to provide an exciting yet challenging educational experience through the magnetic appeal of Formula 1. F1 in Schools is the only truly global educational programme that raises awareness of STEM and Formula 1 among students and school children in every region, in every country, on every continent.
Our Challenge
The Challenge in Shropshire will commence on 6th December, with a launch event at the MCMT in Bridgnorth. With hard work and a bit of luck, we hope it will finish on a high at the World Final in 2020.
If you are also a Shropshire based business and would like to get involved, please do get in touch.
